Football Game Preview: Scituate Spartans vs. Hope Blue Wave

The Scituate Spartans are taking a road trip to face off against the Hope Blue Wave at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Scituate's defense has only allowed 12.3 points per game this season, so Hope's offense will have their work cut out for them.

On Saturday, Scituate was just a hair shy of victory and fell 21-20 to Narragansett. The Spartans have struggled against the Mariners recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Scituate got top-tier performance from Drake Dumont, who rushed for 171 yards and a pair of scores. Dumont showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 55 yards.

Meanwhile, Hope played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by North Smithfield and fell 48-6. The Blue Wave were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-6.

Scituate's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Hope, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Scituate took their victory against Hope in their previous matchup back in October of 2023 by a conclusive 27-6 score. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Blue Wave have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
