Intrinsic entered their tilt with Schurz on Friday with seven consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with eight. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Bulldogs a 10-0 shutout. Considering the Mustangs have won six games by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Joel Diaz made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.

In other batting news, Brandon Loredo was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Intrinsic: the team is 6-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-4 otherwise. Angel Munoz was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Intrinsic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .607. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .520 or higher in three consecutive matches.

Intrinsic pushed their record up to 9-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.2 runs on average over those games. As for Schurz, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-5.

Intrinsic will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bulldogs: the pair will be back at it again later today.
