Baseball Recap: Braintree Gets the Win

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Braintree had no problem doing just that on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 win over the Newton South Lions. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wamps have posted since May 8th.

The win made it two in a row for Braintree and bumps their season record up to 12-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Newton South, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 15-6.

As of now, neither Braintree nor the Lions have any future games scheduled.
