Basketball Recap: Kamarli Mcguire's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Crawford County over Central

Crawford County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 33-28 heartbreaker at the hands of the Central Hawks. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 48-41 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2022.

Crawford County lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kamarli McGuire, who posted 12 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. McGuire is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mikayla Ivey, who put up four points in addition to nine boards and three steals.

Even though they lost, Crawford County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Crawford County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Central, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-6.

Crawford County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 46-12 loss against Chattahoochee County on the 17th. As for Central, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 55-30 defeat against Marion County on the 17th.
