Jenna Leanos made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (she also didn't allow any walks). Leanos was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

Hannah Flores made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Arleth Munoz, who got on base in four of her seven plate appearances with an RBI.

Ysleta's victory bumped their record up to 22-1-1. As for Horizon, their loss dropped their record down to 9-13.

Thursday's match will be a test for both team's pitchers. Ysleta hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .422.
