Traiton Mauffray leads a balanced attack to beat Lighthouse Private Christian Academy

There's no place like home for the Destin Sharks, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Wednesday. They had just enough and edged Lighthouse Private Christian Academy out 74-71. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Destin has posted yet this season.

Destin got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Traiton Mauffray out in front who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists. Another player making a difference was Bryson Nixon, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Lighthouse Private Christian Academy lost on Friday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Arthur Rosado, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rosado has scored all season. Arthur Casagrande was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.

Destin now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Lighthouse Private Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 11-9.

Destin will be playing at home against West Florida at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully West Florida focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Thursday. As for Lighthouse Private Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Northview at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
