Baseball Recap: West Mesa Comes Up Short

West Mesa fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Valencia on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Jaguars by a score of 4-3. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Jaguars recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Ayden Gonzales was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob White, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

West Mesa's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Valencia, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Mesa will host Highland at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Valencia, they will be playing at home against Albuquerque at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
