Volleyball Recap: Belton Comes Up Short

Belton was the 2-0 winner over Lee's Summit when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. Belton took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lee's Summit on Saturday. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Their offense was headlined by Charlie Beal and Zane Richard, who picked up two kills apiece. They got some help from Josue Hinojos and his four assists. Cayden Leavitt controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Among those leading the charge was Garrett McMillin, who had six assists and five digs. Those six assists gave him a new career-high.

Belton now has a losing record of 1-2-1. As for Lee's Summit, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Belton will take on Raymore-Peculiar at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lee's Summit, they have already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Lee's Summit West on the 22nd.
