San Pedro waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came out on top against the Mira Costa Mustangs by a score of 27-14. This was payback for the Pirates, who suffered a 12-6 defeat the last time these two teams met.

San Pedro got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Fatima Ramirez out in front who picked up 78 receiving yards and one TD, and also rushed for 63 yards and one touchdown. Another passer making a difference was Maddison Adrid, who threw for 89 yards and three touchdowns.

San Pedro didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Ramirez led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by herself.

San Pedro's victory bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Mira Costa, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.

San Pedro will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Narbonne at 2:30 p.m. on the 25th. As for Mira Costa, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 20-6 win against Peninsula on the 11th.
