Basketball Game Preview: Redmond Mustangs vs. Renton Red Hawks

The Redmond Mustangs will square off against the Renton Red Hawks at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Redmond is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.2 points per game this season.

Redmond will bounce into Wednesday's matchup after beating Skyline, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Redmond walked away with a 55-47 win over Skyline on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

Iha Kasam was her usual excellent self, going 6 of 11 from beyond the arc on her way to 23 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Redmond's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sofia Locati, who posted 14 points and eight rebounds.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Renton, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Evergreen on Friday as Renton made off with a 50-30 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Red Hawks have posted since January 5, 2024.

Renton's victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-9. As for Redmond, their win bumped their record up to 12-1.

Everything came up roses for Redmond against Renton in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the squad secured an 82-18 victory. In that contest, Redmond amassed a halftime lead of 50-10, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Wednesday.
