Baseball Game Preview: Trinity Hillers vs. Ringgold Rams

The Trinity Hillers will take on the Ringgold Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Trinity will be strutting in after a win while Ringgold will be coming in after a defeat.

Trinity will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating Bethel Park, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. The Hillers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Black Hawks on Tuesday, sneaking past 3-2.

Trinity got a great performance from Zachary Schrader as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Schrader has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Trinity saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jonah Williamson, who went 1-for-3 with one double. That double was Williamson's first of the season.

Meanwhile, Ringgold fell victim to Belle Vernon and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Leopards, falling 8-0. The Rams have struggled against the Leopards recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Trinity's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Ringgold, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Trinity has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Ringgold struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.3 strikeouts.
