Volleyball Recap: Abbotsford Now 9-3 over Last 12 Games

After losing to Rib Lake the last time they met, Abbotsford decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Falcons came out on top against the Redmen by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. The game was the first time the Falcons have beaten the Redmen on their court since October 7, 2023.

Abbotsford had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 13-25, 25-23, 25-11, 25-17.

Caylee Clement was nothing short of spectacular: she had 17 digs and four aces. That's the most digs she has posted over her last ten matches. Celia Schindler also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

They weren't the only good server: Abbotsford was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. They are 10-2 when they serve at least ten aces.

Abbotsford has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. As for Rib Lake, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 23-6.

Coming up, Abbotsford will take on Marathon at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Rib Lake, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Stratford at 7:00 p.m. on October 2.
