Basketball Game Preview: Mt. Vernon Yellowjackets vs. Zanesville Blue Devils

The Mt. Vernon Yellowjackets will challenge the Zanesville Blue Devils at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Friday, Mt. Vernon came up short against Granville and fell 50-43. The Yellowjackets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Zanesville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 60-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of Licking Valley. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 406th, while the Panthers are ranked 186th).

Zanesville's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Mt. Vernon, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-8.

Everything went Mt. Vernon's way against Zanesville in their previous meeting back in January, as Mt. Vernon made off with a 69-46 victory. Does Mt. Vernon have another victory up their sleeve, or will Zanesville turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
