Volleyball Recap: Mt. Pulaski Gets the Win

After losing to Monticello the last time they met, Mt. Pulaski decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Hilltoppers skirted past the Sages 2-1.

Elayna Marten paced Mt. Pulaski's offense, picking up 12 kills. Marten got some help from Alyson Murphy and her 21 assists. Marten was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Several Sages players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mady Melton, who had ten digs and two aces. Another player making a difference was Sadie Walsh, who had five aces.

Mt. Pulaski's record now sits at 13-10. As for Monticello, the loss snapped their winning streak at three matches and leaves them with a 19-10 record.

Mt. Pulaski didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against Cissna Park on the 18th. As for Monticello, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Hartsburg-Emden on the 18th.
