Football Game Preview: Big Spring Steers vs. Andrews Mustangs

Big Spring is 1-9 against Andrews since October of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. Andrews took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Big Spring, who comes in off a win.

Last Friday, everything came up roses for Big Spring against Kermit as the team secured a 49-14 victory. The game marked the Steers' most dominant win of the season.

Meanwhile, Andrews managed to keep up with Bushland until halftime last Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Mustangs came up short against the Falcons, falling 34-12.

Big Spring will have to contain JaeSean DeBouse as he made an impact in Andrews' last game. He rushed for 169 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 9.4 yards per carry, and also picked up 32 receiving yards. DeBouse's longest rush was for an incredible 71 yards.

Big Spring's victory bumped their record up to 4-2-1. As for Andrews, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Big Spring was taken down by Andrews 71-14 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of DeBouse, who rushed for 97 yards and two scores, and also picked up 41 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.
