Baseball Recap: Uvalde Takes a Loss

Uvalde's last matchup with Floresville could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Friday. Uvalde lost 8-1 to Floresville. The contest marked the Coyotes/Lobos (for girls)'s lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Uvalde saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joseph Pineda, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Uvalde's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 11-3-2. As for Floresville, their record now sits at 11-7.

Looking ahead, Uvalde will square off against United South at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. United South's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Uvalde's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Floresville, they will face off against Calallen at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Calallen will roll in looking for their 17th straight win, something Floresville surely won't give up without a fight.
