Softball Recap: Lumberton Takes a Loss

Lumberton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 7-2 to the Gray's Creek Bears. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 back in March.

Lumberton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaelyn Hammond, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Lumberton's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Gray's Creek, the win (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 16-1.

Coming up, Lumberton will be playing in front of their home fans against Topsail at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Gray's Creek, they will head out to square off against South View at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
