Football Recap: Sweetwater Red Devils vs. Eastlake Titans        
        
		
             Sweetwater was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Friday as the team picked up their third straight  defeat. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost  21-17 to the Eastlake Titans, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Red Devils gained 151 more yards on the day, but it was the Titans that made the best use of them.
 Sweetwater's  loss shouldn't obscure the performances of  Faisal Musa, who rushed for 103 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries, and  Zaryan Crews, who rushed for 126 yards and a touchdown. Musa really tore up the turf  during one magnificent 80-yard run.
 Even though they lost, Sweetwater was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 278  rushing yards. That's the most  rushing yards they've posted since back in December of 2023.
 Sweetwater wouldn't let Eastlake keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Sweetwater can thank  Nassir Hicks and  Jacob Gonsalves for forcing both of them.
 Eastlake was led to victory by  William Schmitz and  Tyler Balko.  Schmitz rushed for 74 yards and two touchdowns, while  Balko threw for 102 yards and a touchdown.
 Sweetwater's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Eastlake,  with the  victory, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-6.
 Sweetwater will head out to  challenge Chula Vista  at 6:30  p.m.  on Friday. Sweetwater's defense has only allowed 12.4  points per game  this season, so Chula Vista's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Eastlake, they will welcome Otay Ranch  at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday. Eastlake will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more  points each  match than the last.
