Lawrence-Nelson is 8-2 against Giltner since January of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Lawrence-Nelson Raiders will venture away from home to take on the Giltner Hornets at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Lawrence-Nelson is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering McCool Junction just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a hard 63-46 fall against the Mustangs. While the Raiders didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Mustangs 17-13 in the first quarter.

Despite the defeat, Lawrence-Nelson got top-tier performance from Sawyer Cox, who went 8 for 16 on his way to 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Frey, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 boards.

Meanwhile, Giltner was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by Blue Hill 74-33.

Lawrence-Nelson will need focus on slowing down Blaydon White, one of several Giltner players who made an impact when they last played. He posted eight points. Braxton Cady was another key player, putting up two points and three steals.

Lawrence-Nelson's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Giltner, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

Lawrence-Nelson came out on top in a nail-biter against Giltner when the teams last played back in January of 2024, sneaking past 33-31. Will Lawrence-Nelson repeat their success, or does Giltner have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
