Volleyball Recap: Holdrege's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

After a string of nine wins, Holdrege's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of the Adams Central Patriots by a score of 2-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Dusters of the 3-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

While Holdrege ultimately came up short, they really made Adams Central work, particularly in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 18-25, 28-26.

Adams Central found their leader in sophomore Brynn Smith, who had 18 assists and eight digs. Phoebe Johnson also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Holdrege's loss dropped their record down to 13-2. As for Adams Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Holdrege didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Bridgeport on the 3rd. As for Adams Central, they have also already played their next match, a 2-1 victory against Scottsbluff on the 3rd.
