Volleyball Recap: St. Clairsville's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Five

St. Clairsville entered their tilt with Barnesville on Thursday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They came out on top against the Shamrocks by a score of 3-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 back in August.

St. Clairsville walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the fourth set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 22-25, 29-27, 25-15.

Despite the defeat, Barnesville saw an underclassman step up: freshman Makenna Marley had 20 digs and one assist. Those 20 digs set a new season-high mark for Marley.

St. Clairsville's victory bumped their record up to 13-1. As for Barnesville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Clairsville will take on Cambridge at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Barnesville, they will face off against Martins Ferry at 6:45 p.m. on Monday.
