Softball Recap: Sheboygan South Takes a Loss

Sheboygan South had lost 19 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 0-16 to make it 20. They lost 21-2 to the Notre Dame Academy Tritons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tritons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-0 back in April.

Sheboygan South saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bianca Schneiderwent, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double. Brynnin Beyer also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

As for Notre Dame Academy, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-9 record. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by eight runs or more this season.

On Notre Dame Academy's side, Addyson Simpson made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. What's more, Simpson posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in May of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Notre Dame Academy got a massive performance out of Olivia Waldrop, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Stella Starry was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Sheboygan South wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, an 18-3 loss against Sheboygan North on the 9th. As for Notre Dame Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 14-2 defeat against Green Bay Preble on the 7th.
