Cumberland extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to eight on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 0-6 in the process. They lost 13-1 to the La Salle Academy Rams. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

As for La Salle Academy, the win keeps they at an undefeated 8-0. Considering they have won six matchups by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

For La Salle Academy's part, Gia Dennino looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.

On the hitting side, Phoenyx Silva was a standout: she fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Diana Hall, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Coming up, Cumberland will venture away from home to square off against Cranston West at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for La Salle Academy, they will square off against Cheshire at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
