Basketball Recap: Chester Takes a Loss

Chester lost against Red Bud back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Chester Yellowjackets took a 50-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Red Bud Musketeers. The Yellowjackets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Leading Red Bud to victory were Emma Carter and Ava Wagner. Carter posted five points in addition to 13 boards and four steals, while Wagner almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. That's the most steals Carter has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jeda Kathryn Friess, who had eight points and nine rebounds.

Chester's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Red Bud, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 13-6.

Chester will head out to take on Carlyle at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Red Bud, they will welcome Freeburg at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
