Soccer Game Preview: Lakeview Centennial vs. Wylie

The Lakeview Centennial Patriots will square off against the Wylie Pirates at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lakeview Centennial's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for nine straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Lakeview Centennial is likely headed into the contest with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Garland on Tuesday. Lakeview Centennial fell just short of Garland by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 709th, while the Owls are ranked 351st).

Meanwhile, Wylie entered their game against Garland on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Wylie fell just short of Garland by a score of 2-1. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Their goal came courtesy of Matheus Pereira, who's now up to four this season.

Wylie's loss dropped their record down to 3-2-5. As for Lakeview Centennial, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-10-1.
