Basketball Recap: BASIS - Chandler Starts Season with Victory at Home

BASIS - Chandler took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They breezed past the BASIS Phoenix Firebirds to the tune of 70-19. For the Bobcats, this counts as revenge for the 54-48 win the Firebirds walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2019.

Wilson Hilgaertner was a one-man wrecking crew as he posted 24 points. His evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Kalen Karuppana was another key player, putting up 12 points.

This is the second loss in a row for BASIS Phoenix and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Looking ahead, BASIS - Chandler is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will face off against ASU Prep Poly at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for BASIS Phoenix, they will welcome South Pointe at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
