Softball Recap: Maryknoll Has No Trouble Against 'Iolani

Maryknoll got themselves on the board against 'Iolani on Tuesday, but 'Iolani never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Raiders with a sharp 10-0 win. The game marked the Spartans' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Kasi Cruz made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. Cruz was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Kyla Abad was a standout: she went 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Sheyzhelle Iokia, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two runs.

Maryknoll was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Punahou will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Maryknoll surely won't give up without a fight. As for 'Iolani, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 11-3 loss against Kamehameha Kapalama on the 20th.
