Clinton came tearing into Friday's matchup with eight straight wins dating back to last season (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 11-9 win over the Blissfield Royals. This was payback for the Redwolves, who suffered a 10-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Clinton pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Blissfield, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Clinton wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 4-0 victory against Hanover-Horton on the 12th. Hopefully Blissfield payed attention to the Redwolves' game: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Redwolves at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
