Softball Recap: Calaveras Takes Down Livingston in a Playoff Battle

Calaveras had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Livingston Wolves 2-1. Winning may never get old, but the Red Hawks sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Kamryn Thornburg spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Calaveras' win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Carlee Jasper, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Calaveras hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Livingston struck out 15 times.

Calaveras' victory bumped their record up to 18-7-1. As for Livingston, their loss dropped their record down to 20-9.

Calaveras didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 9-2 win against Liberty Ranch on the 24th. Livingston does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
