Volleyball Recap: James Monroe Wins Going Away Against Clay County

James Monroe won the last time they faced Clay County and things went their way on Thursday too. The Mavericks put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 3-0 win.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant James Monroe was: they took every set by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-6, 25-8.

James Monroe can attribute much of their success to Rileigh Jackson, who had nine digs and four assists. Those nine digs gave Jackson a new career-high.

James Monroe was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 11 consecutive contests.

James Monroe's victory bumped their record up to 32-10-3. As for Clay County, they dropped their record down to 1-23 with the loss, which was their ninth straight on the road.

As of now, neither James Monroe nor the Panthers have any future games scheduled.
