Softball Game Preview: South Haven Rams vs. Coloma Comets

The South Haven Rams will venture away from home to face off against the Coloma Comets at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. South Haven's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Coloma's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

South Haven is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Allegan on Tuesday as they made off with a 20-0 victory. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Rams with their most commanding win of the season.

Meanwhile, Coloma is still undefeated this season after their matchup against Parchment on Thursday, but Parchment came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Comets came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Panthers.

Coloma's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-0-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for South Haven, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

South Haven skirted past Coloma 5-4 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
