Football Recap: Collinsville Falls to Belleville East in First Game of Season

Collinsville had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They were beaten by the Belleville East Lancers 40-6 on Friday. The Kahoks were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 26-0.

Jace Wilkinson threw for 95 yards and one TD. Matthew Reynolds was his top target, picking up 65 receiving yards and one score.

Belleville East had a senior duo take command as Josh Ware rushed for 130 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only nine carries and Kayden Wood threw for 147 yards and three TDs. James Johnson was in the mix as well, providing the Lancers with two scores.

Collinsville didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 29-8 defeat against Centralia on the 5th. As for Belleville East, they have also already played their next game, a 26-14 victory against Pekin on the 5th.
