Softball Recap: Dequincy's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

DeQuincy won against Fairview on Monday with seven runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Tigers came out on top against the Vinton Lions by a score of 7-2. The victory was nothing new for the Tigers as they're now sitting on four straight.

Maddie Vinatieri spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, Onnie Remedies was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Audi Flower, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

DeQuincy pushed their record up to 17-11 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Vinton, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-16.

Looking ahead, DeQuincy will look to defend their home field on Thursday against St. Louis Catholic at 5:00 p.m. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Saints have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season. As for Vinton, they will venture away from home to square off against Pickering on Thursday. The Lions are facing the Red Devils at the right time seeing as the Red Devils are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
