Softball Recap: Sloan-Hendrix Comes Up Short

Sloan-Hendrix was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 10-9 heartbreaker at the hands of the Marshall Bobcats.

Rylee Brown stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she scored a run and stole four bases while going 5-for-5. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Allison French was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs.

Sloan-Hendrix's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Marshall, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-5.

Looking ahead, Sloan-Hendrix will host Izard County at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Marshall, they will head out on the road to take on Quitman at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
