Softball Game Preview: Lawrence County Cougars vs. Forrest County Agricultural Aggies

For the second straight game, Lawrence County will face off against Forrest County Agricultural. The Cougars are taking a road trip to face off against the Aggies at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lawrence County has three straight victories, Forrest County Agricultural has 14 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Lawrence County is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They never let Forrest County Agricultural get on the board and left with a 12-0 win. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by six runs or more this season.

Lawrence County let Adaya Ball and GG Sanders run wild. Ball got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs and two stolen bases, while Sanders went 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Sanders has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Melody Hooker, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI.

Lawrence County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.

Forrest County Agricultural's loss dropped their record down to 6-27. As for Lawrence County, their victory bumped their record up to 17-11.
