Preview: Layton Lancers vs. Weber Warriors

Layton is 8-2 against Weber since January of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Layton Lancers will head out on the road to take on the Weber Warriors at 5:15 p.m. Hopefully Layton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Friday.

Layton had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They strolled past Farmington with points to spare, taking the game 41-27. The victory was just what Layton needed coming off of a 54-29 defeat in their prior game.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Layton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Roxy Casper, who scored no points along with ten steals and six assists. Another player making a difference was Oakley Homer, who scored ten points along with two blocks.

Meanwhile, Weber's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They took a serious blow against Fremont, falling 53-25.

Layton's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-13. As for Weber, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 14 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season.

Layton strolled past Weber in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 61-45. The rematch might be a little tougher for Layton since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
