Football Recap: Joseph City Starts Season with Loss at Home + How To Watch

Joseph City unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They had to suffer through a 46-6 loss at the hands of the Salome Frogs. The defeat continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Frogs: they've now lost four in a row.

Salome was led to victory by Tyler Avila and Brandon Navarro. Avila threw for 200 yards and one TD while completing 87.5% of his passes, while Navarro rushed for 162 yards on only 14 carries. The dominant performance also gave Avila a new career-high in rushing yards (98).

Coming up, Joseph City will challenge Valley Lutheran at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Salome, they will square off against Hayden at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
