Basketball Recap: Republic Comes Up Short

On Thursday, the Republic Tigers didn't have quite enough to beat the Troy-Buchanan Trojans and fell 48-46. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 81st, while the Trojans are ranked 13th).

Republic's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-8. As for Troy-Buchanan, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-3.

Republic wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 57-56 victory against Battle on the 24th. Troy-Buchanan has also already played their next game, a 62-58 loss against Fair Grove on the 24th.
