Baseball Game Preview: Crenshaw Cougars vs. Dymally Challengers

The Crenshaw Cougars will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge the Dymally Challengers at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Crenshaw is leaving town to face Dymally after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. The Cougars came up short against Jordan on Wednesday, falling 19-12.

Meanwhile, Dymally narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past George Washington Prep 16-15.

Alejandro Rodriguez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Rodriguez was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with five stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played.

In other batting news, Bryan Baires was a standout: he went 2-for-5 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Daniel Mendoza was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-4.
