South Adams was the 62-42 winner over Leo when they last played one another back in November of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The South Adams Starfires took a 47-30 bruising from the Leo Lions on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Starfires can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 336th, while the Lions are ranked 119th).

Laney Trausch and Rebekah Patterson certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Trausch scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and two steals, while Patterson posted seven points in addition to five steals. Trausch continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

Even though they lost, South Adams smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in three consecutive matchups.

Leah Shappell continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Leo, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 19 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Shappell a new career-high in offensive rebounds (ten). Another player making a difference was Emma Connally, who earned eight points plus nine rebounds and two steals.

South Adams' loss dropped their record down to 1-3-1. As for Leo, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2.

South Adams didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, an 81-19 defeat against Bluffton on the 29th. Leo has also already played their next game, a 49-42 win against Lakeland on the 30th.
