Basketball Recap: Shadow Creek Piles Up the Points Against Alvin

Shadow Creek entered their tilt with Alvin on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Alvin Yellowjackets 83-21. With the Sharks ahead 46-10 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Shadow Creek's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aliyah Woodard led the charge by dropping a double-double on 17 points and 13 assists. Woodard has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Gianna Gentry, who went 7 for 17 on her way to 20 points in addition to eight boards and four steals.

Shadow Creek smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 15 consecutive contests.

Despite the loss, Alvin still got an impressive performance from Cheyenne Lang, who posted nine points and five rebounds.

Shadow Creek pushed their record up to 21-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.0 points per game. As for Alvin, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 15 of their last 19 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-20 record this season.
