Softball Game Preview: Mountain Ridge Miners vs. Fort Hill Sentinels

The Mountain Ridge Miners will venture away from home to challenge the Fort Hill Sentinels at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Things were looking good for Mountain Ridge after they put the first runs on the board on Thursday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They lost 17-9 to Keyser. The defeat continues a trend for the Miners in their meetings with the Golden Tornado: they've now lost five in a row.

Meanwhile, Fort Hill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against Allegany, falling 11-1.

Mountain Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Fort Hill, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Mountain Ridge skirted past Fort Hill 6-5 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will the Miners repeat their success, or do the Sentinels have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
