Recap: Bristol Bay Angels vs. Togiak Huskies
The Bristol Bay Angels had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. In a tight match that could have gone either way, they made off with a 55-54 win over Togiak. For Bristol Bay, this counts as revenge for the 75-44 defeat the Huskies walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bristol Bay to victory, but perhaps none more so than Julian Trefon, who scored 18 points. Trefon continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Keilan Wassillie, who scored 18 points.
Bristol Bay's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Togiak, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-1.
Bristol Bay won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the T-Jacks and Rookies at 7:00 p.m. on January 27th. King Cove has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 419 points over their last six contests. Togiak does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
