Softball Recap: Richmond Comes Up Short

After flying high against Bethel back in March, Richmond came back down to earth. The Oilers came up short against the Jaguars on Monday, falling 35-7. The Oilers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Jaguars earlier this season, when they won 15-6.

Richmond's defeat was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Bethel, they moved to 2-12-1 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Coming up, Richmond will look to defend their home field on the 23rd against Vallejo at 4:00 p.m. As for Bethel, they will head out to challenge Fairfield at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Jaguars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 12.9 runs per game this season.
