Recap: Trotwood-Madison Rams vs. Taft Senators

After losing to the Taft Senators the last time they met, the Trotwood-Madison Rams decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Trotwood-Madison blew past Taft 72-52. Given Trotwood-Madison's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 80th, while Taft is ranked 294th), the result on Saturday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Tim Carpenter was his usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with six rebounds. Carpenter is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jermiel Atkins, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.

The win makes it two in a row for Trotwood-Madison and bumps their season record up to 4-1. As for Taft, they have fallen quite a ways from their 18-3 record last season and are now at 2-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Trotwood-Madison's road trip will continue as they head out to face Ponitz Career Tech at 7:30 p.m. on December 22nd. As for Taft, they will challenge Northland at 8:15 p.m. on Monday. Northland is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.
