Football Recap: Notre Dame Prep Triumphs + How To Watch

Notre Dame Prep extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping them up to 4-2. They came within a single point of losing the streak, but they secured a 20-19 W against the Oak Park Knights. Those 20 points were actually the fewest the Fighting Irish have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Notre Dame Prep's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sam Stowe, who threw for 227 yards and two TDs while completing 72% of his passes. That's the most passing yards Stowe has posted since back in October of 2024. A healthy portion of Stowe's aerial production (99 yards to be exact) went to Drake Roa, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Notre Dame Prep proved: they limited Oak Park to a paltry three yards per carry. The Fighting Irish's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 4.6.

As for Oak Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 191st, while Notre Dame Prep is ranked 49th).

When it comes to explaining why Oak Park lost, don't look at Michael Jones Jr. Despite the final result, he picked up 100 receiving yards and one score.

Coming up, Notre Dame Prep will square off against St. Francis at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Oak Park, they will challenge North Farmington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
