Basketball Recap: Wakefield Piles Up the Points Against Crofton

Wakefield played in conference for the first time on Monday and they got just the result they we're looking for. They blew past the Crofton Warriors 64-33. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Wakefield's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jacob Borg, who on his way to 15 points in addition to eight assists and seven rebounds. What's more, Borg also posted a 64% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Jacob Birkley was another key player, en route to 18 points.

Borg wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Wakefield was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Crofton lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Tyson Jackson, who posted nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jace Panning, who earned eight points.

Wakefield is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 games. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.6 points over those games. Crofton's defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-20.

Wakefield has already played their next contest (against Cedar Catholic), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Crofton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
