Baseball Game Preview: NorthWood Panthers vs. Mishawaka Cavemen

The NorthWood Panthers will head out to face off against the Mishawaka Cavemen at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. NorthWood's pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so Mishawaka's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

It was a proper cat-fight when NorthWood challenged Warsaw on Wednesday. The Panthers fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 4-3. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

NorthWood saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nathan Shrock, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. That stolen base was Shrock's first of the season.

Meanwhile, Mishawaka came up short against Concord on Wednesday and fell 6-3. That's two games in a row now that the Cavemen have lost by exactly three runs.

NorthWood's defeat dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Mishawaka, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-7.

NorthWood came out on top in a nail-biter against Mishawaka in their previous meeting two weeks ago, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
