Baseball Recap: Tioga Comes Up Short

If Tioga was riding high fresh off their 16-4 takedown of Petrolia last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tioga Bulldogs came up short against the Tom Bean Tomcats on Friday, falling 17-5. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tomcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Austin Norwood was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. Landon Bingham also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Tioga has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-4-1 record this season. Tom Bean's record is now 5-3.

Coming up, Tioga is taking a road trip to challenge Whitewright at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tom Bean, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Savoy at 6:30 p.m.
