Softball Recap: Portland Takes a Loss

Portland fell victim to Haddam-Killingworth and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 22-0 to the Cougars. The loss continues a trend for the Highlanders in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost eight in a row.

Portland saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ella Royea, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.

Portland now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Haddam-Killingworth, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Portland wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, an 18-1 defeat against Coginchaug Regional on the 11th. As for Haddam-Killingworth, they have also already played their next game, a 9-8 victory against Westbrook on the 21st.
